Grand jury charges one in bank robberies

A woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury in a string of armed bank robberies.
Caroline Moyra Mullen was charged in U.S. District Court on Wednesday on six charges, including two counts of armed bank robbery, two counts of bank robbery, using a firearm during a crime and interference with commerce by threats of violence.
According to the indictment, the string of robberies began on March 7 when a Check 'N Go store in Las Vegas was held up and an employee was threatened with a gun. The robber made off with $965.
Two days later the Silver State Bank at 65 West Lake Mead Drive in Henderson was robbed of $2,080.
On March 22 the robber struck again at a Wells Fargo Bank in Henderson, this time brandishing a 9mm semiautomatic handgun and making off with $2,312.
Another Wells Fargo Bank in Henderson was robbed on March 24, losing $3,283. The last robbery occurred March 29 at the Nevada State Bank in Henderson. The robber took $1,799.
A grand jury also indicted two men on drug charges Wednesday. Demetrius Melton was charged with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, and Ariel Galvez Domingo was charged with distribution of a controlled substance.
Also, Jose Guadalupe Robles-Maldonado and Sergio Contreras-Sanchez were indicted Wednesday on a charge of unlawful reentry of a deported alien.
