A new interchange for U.S. 95 between Lake Mead Drive and Sunset Road is being considered by the Nevada Department of Transportation and the city of Henderson.
The interchange would alleviate traffic congestion on the Lake Mead and Sunset interchanges and provide direct access to the Valley Auto Mall and other nearby businesses.
The Valley Auto Mall has pledged $1.7 million for the $15 million project.
Richard Moore, president of the proposed Nevada State College at Henderson, has said that such an interchange also would provide easier access to the college site.
Construction, if the project is approved, is slated to begin next April and be completed by 2006.
