Dawn Gibbons seeks re-election to Nevada Assembly
Tuesday, May 2, 2000 | 1:02 a.m.
The 46-year-old Republican from District 25 filed as a candidate at the Washoe County Courthouse.
Gibbons won her first election two years ago, defeating challenger Patty Cafferata in the GOP primary.
Under a law passed by the 1997 Legislature, Gibbons was declared the winner when she received more 50 percent of the vote in primary balloting.
One of her first orders of business in the 1999 session was to repeal that law, but the measure died in the Senate.
Gibbons is the wife of Nevada Rep. Jim Gibbons.
