Sprint Corp. and the Women's Network of the National Conference of State Legislatures are providing four $2,500 scholarships to students pursuing an advanced degree in political science, public administration, public policy or a related field.
Scholarships are based on scholastic achievements, written statements by the applicant, community and school involvement and letters of recommendation. Recipients must be entering graduate studies for the first time this fall.
Applicants have until June 20 to apply and provide documentation. For applications, call (800) 796-3464.
Project: Learn MS 2000 gives high school and college students an opportunity to compete for thousands of dollars in college scholarship awards through a national essay competition.
The scholarship program, sponsored by the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, is designed to educate students about multiple sclerosis.
The essay competition awards $8,000 and is open to high school juniors, seniors and college freshmen and sophomores.
Students write a 500- to 1,000-word essay on how multiple sclerosis affects its victims and their families on a daily basis.
Entries must be postmarked by June 2. Students may obtain a registration form on the association's website (www.msaa.com) or by calling (800) 532-7667.
