The North Las Vegas Airport will soon have a new air traffic control tower, new runway and taxiway extension by April 2001.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility will be held at 9 a.m. Monday.
Bill Withycombe, Federal Aviation Administration Western-Pacific regional administrator, said the new tower is the first of its kind.
The $5 million to $6 million parallel runway project will include construction of a tie-down apron and the extension of the existing cross taxiway.
