ATLANTIC CITY -- State police said 17 people were injured, two seriously, in a bus crash on the Garden State Parkway in Galloway Township this morning.
Police reported the bus driver said he was trying to pass a vehicle when the bus rear-ended a flatbed truck around 10:45 a.m., near milepost 41.9 southbound.
Fifteen of the 17 people on the bus, most of them in their 60s and 70s, sought medical attention.
Two people in the truck, which is owned by a Vineland concrete company, also were taken to area hospitals.
Trooper Barry Saul said the bus driver, Guang Zhi, is from Brooklyn, N.Y. The bus was operated by Lucky Strike Travel of New York City. However, it is not known where it had picked up passengers for the trip to Bally's Park Place Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
