Harry R. Belcastro Sr., 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born March 6, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired medical technologist and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; one daughter, Diane Diorio of Las Vegas; one son, Harry Belcastro Jr. of North Las Vegas; three sisters, Isabelle Pearson, Lucy Parzyszek and Angie Sciacca, and one brother, Frank Belcastro, all of Chicago; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Helen H. Bennett, 88, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 27, 1912, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynne Williams of Ervington, Va.; two sons, Charles Gates of San Diego and Jay W. Sanderson of Las Vegas; one brother, William Harrison of Amherst, N.Y.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Sam S. Carlisi, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 14, 1925, in Sicily. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired musician, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a member of Detroit Musicians Local 5 and Las Vegas Musicians Local 369.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; one son, Charlie A. Carlisi of Las Vegas; two daughters, Judy Carlisi of Orlando, Fla., and Carla Carlisi of Las Vegas; two brothers, Steve Carlisi and Phil Carlisi, and one sister, Connie Ferrera, all of Detroit; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Carrie Cassiani and Billie Rue White, both of Las Vegas, and Ann Eileen Moore of Huntington Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Leanna G. Estes, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 18, 1917, in Connecticut. A resident for three years, she was an embroiderer.
She is survived by two sons, Luther Estes of San Diego and William Fox of Las Vegas; two daughters, Ethel Fox of Las Vegas and Marianna Estes of San Diego; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Janice E. Greer, 48, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 24, 1951, in Detroit. A resident for 35 years, she was a secretary for Reynolds Electrical and Engineering Co.
She is survived by one daughter, Mikeysha Greer of Las Vegas; her mother, Wilma Moore of Oklahoma; two brothers, Jimmy Moore of Los Angeles and Harold Milner of Oklahoma; and four grandchildren.

Bernice Gripentog, 93, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born May 2, 1906, in Taopa, Minn. A resident for 49 years, she retired as assistant manager at Las Vegas Boat Harbor, the family business. She was a riveter in an aircraft factory during World War II in Long Beach, Calif., and was in the first graduating class of licensed practical nurses from Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital (now University Medical Center).
She is survived by one son, William Gripentog of Kennewick, Wash.; three daughters, Andria Gripentog of Kennewick and Betty Gripentog and Pat Gripentog, both of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Ron Sommerfield, 64, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 3, 1936, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired marketing and sales director, a Korean War Marine Corps veteran, a key figure in developing numerous casinos including the original MGM Grand, Dunes, Riviera, Tropicana, International and the Reno Circus Circus. He worked with Rams coach Ray Malavase to develop the hologram for the U.S. government military and developed an LED light bulb which uses 4 watts of power and never burns out and is used on the Stratosphere.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; one son, Kenny Sommerfield of Garden Grove, Calif.; two daughters, Cindy Lee of Hemet, Calif., and Patty Warren of Laguna Beach, Calif.; one sister, Sandy Giese of Long Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Leland M. 'Shady' Wood, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 25, 1941, in Patoka, Ind. A resident for 20 years, he was a truck driver and past president of Dutch Oven Society of Nevada.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three sons, James Wood, David Wood and Steven Wood, all of Las Vegas; two daughters, Lorie Wood-Feindel of Las Vegas and Tammy Capps of Punta Gorda, Fla.; three brothers, Dennis Wood of Titusville, Fla., and Richard Wood and Royce Wood, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Randa Priest of Patoku.; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
Sam Yager
Sam Yager, 66, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Grand Rapids, Mich. A resident for six years, he was a sales executive in the packaging industry for 25 years and was an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian; one son, Les Yager of California; one daughter, Stacy Yager of Las Vegas; and one sister, Jeanne Parker of Illinois.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd., Pahrump, is handling arrangements.
