LV company sold to Chicago firm

Chicago-based Brook Furniture Rental Inc. purchased Aaron Rents Inc. of Las Vegas.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Brook is one of the nation's largest furniture leasing companies and currently operates a Las Vegas store at 4850 W. Flamingo Road; Aaron Rents' local store is at 4345 S. Industrial Road.

Brook Chief Executive Officer Robert Crawford said the Las Vegas acquisition includes a 30,000-square-foot local distribution center that will facilitate further regional growth.

In 1999, Brook reported $50 million in revenue from its 22 showrooms, eight distribution centers and five clearance centers nationwide.
