Reno called “quirky”

But according to Modern Maturity magazine, Reno is quirky. Well, not as quirky as California's Sonoma County or Florida's Key West. But quirkier than, say, Hot Springs, Ark. or Wilmington, N.C.
The magazine's senior editor, Gabrielle deGroot, says quirky is cool. Quirky towns are offbeat.
Reno also is one of Modern Maturity's "50 Most Alive Places to Live," joining a list that includes clean towns, college towns, big cities, small towns and quirky towns.
The magazine is published by the American Association of Retired People.
After Wilmington, its second five on the quirky list are Santa Cruz, Calif., Branson, Mo., Seaside, Fla., Bisbee, Ariz. and Sioux Falls, S.D.
