College leaders have said they need legislative authorization to prepare people for casino jobs.
Sen. Terry Burton, D-Newton, chairman of the Senate Universities and Colleges Committee, said Wednesday that the bill, which does not authorize classes in things like dealing black jack, has stirred up some controversy as do all gambling bills.
Burton said he wants to talk about the bill with individual committee members to see how it might be rewritten to satisfy all sides. Burton admitted there was a chance the bill might not be called up for a vote.
The bill passed the House earlier this month.
