The 21-year-old part-time Las Vegas resident accused of running over and killing six teens as they picked up trash along Interstate 15 will remain in the Clark County Detention Center on $5 million bond, for now.
Justice of the Peace Tony Abbatangelo denied a defense motion to reduce Jessica William's bail from $5 million to $100,000 during her arraignment this morning.
According to police, Williams was under the influence of marijuana when her van veered across the road and into a median where a group of teen-aged probationers were picking up trash March 19.
Scott Garner Jr., 14, Alberto Puig, 16, Anthony T. Smith, 14, Rebeccah D. Glicken, 15, Malina M. Stoltzfus, 15, and Jennifer Booth, 16, died as a result of the accident.
Abbatangelo also this morning set William's preliminary hearing for April 13. However, Chief Deputy District Attorney Gary Booker intends to present the case against Williams to a grand jury on April 11.
A criminal complaint has been filed against Williams charging her with six counts each of involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and DUI of a prohibited substance.
