Columnist Muriel Stevens: Get your Extra Value points
Wednesday, March 29, 2000 | 9:38 a.m.
The Saks Fifth Avenue outlet store, Saks Off 5th, in the Belz outlet mall on Warm Springs Road, is offering Extra Value points now through Monday.
Here's how the limited promotion works: For every $100 spent you'll receive a certificate good for 100 Extra Value points. From April 24 through May 4, the points give customers extra savings on new purchases. This is in addition to the ticket sale price. Certificates are issued by the cashier.
For even bigger savings use your Saks Fifth Avenue charge card when you make certificate purchases and save even more. Without a Saks charge card, 100 points gets you an additional 10 percent off; 200 points, 15 percent; 300 points, 20 percent. With a Saks charge card the percentage off increases an additional 5 percent; 100 points, 15 percent; 200 points, 20 percent; 300 points, 25 percent.
Point certificates are not valid without the original receipt, so keep the certificates and sales slips together. You can use up to 300 points on any one total purchase. A large stock of spring merchandise for women, men and children just arrived, but don't delay. New items go quickly. Extra Value points can really stretch your budget. Remember the rules: Shop now through Monday to acquire points; April 24-May 3 to use them.
Grand Canal Shoppes: Available at no cost to all locals 18 years or older is the newest Grand Canal Shoppes voucher packet. The vouchers are good through Monday. You must show a Nevada ID to get one.
Included are retail, restaurant and entertainment deals of all kinds. The new Canyon Ranch Living Essentials shop offers a 15 percent discount on "products to nourish your mind, body and spirit."
Included are aromatherapy bath and body products, potpourri with healing essential oils, Canyon Ranch SpaClub logo wear, books, videos, gifts and accessories, and natural fiber clothing.
Also offering percentage-off vouchers are Dolce & Dolce Due Cartier Eyewear, Ca'd'Oro, Kids Karnivale, Ripa de Monti, Ancient Creations and Cashman's Photo Magic.
Madame Tussaud's, Theaters of Sensation (3-D motion adventure rides) and the C2K showroom all offer ticket deals.
At New Balance shoes, make a shoe purchase and receive three pairs of socks (while supplies last); Lior fashion store will give a free T-shirt with any suit purchase or 5 percent off; present your voucher at Brookstone and relax with a free stress-relieving massage; Simayof jewelers will professionally clean your jewelry while you wait.
Purchase $95 or more in services at Canyon Ranch SpaClub and receive a complimentary copy of the "Canyon Ranch Cooking" cookbook by Jeanne Jones. This offer is good Sunday through Thursday only. Jones' Cook it Light column is a weekly feature in the Sun.
Spend more than $150 at Tolstoy's and receive a free leather pen case. With their voucher, Haagen-Dazs will give $1 off any purchase of ice cream, yogurt or sorbet.
Voucher packets can be picked up at any gondola station. The voucher selection changes every two months, so there's always something new.
