Ron Bavington
Ron Bavington, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 10, 1930, in London. A resident for 24 years, he owned Practical Rent A Car Systems.
He is survived by three sons, Anthony Bavington of Reading, England, and Jason Bavington and Timothy Bavington, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Linda Bavington of Middlesex, England; one sister, Patricia Howes of Los Angeles; his companion, Pamela Wyatt of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Jones.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
Morris Greenberg
Morris Greenberg, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A longtime resident, he was born July 24, 1910.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Los Angeles. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Denis C. Harman
Denis C. Harman, 51, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 12, 1949, in Queens, N.Y. A resident for 12 years, he was a loan officer with Priority Mortgage.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; three daughters, Cheryl Roche, Jennifer Smith and Kimberly Harman, and one son, Michael Harman, all of Las Vegas; his parents, Chester and Lorraine Harman, two sisters, Lorraine Striker and Gail Harman, and one brother, Michael Harman, all of New York; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Genevieve Magayna Hull
Genevieve Magayna Hull, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Hibbing, Minn. A resident for 45 years, she was a retired floral designer.
She is survived by four daughters, Denese Hull and Teresa Berends, both of Las Vegas, Danette Oertel of Salt Lake City and Cynthia Breit of Kansas; one son, Walter Hull of Henderson; two brothers, Hank Magayna of Wisconsin and Jerry Magayna of California; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will continue until 5 p.m. services today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.
Bettye Jean Mathews
Bettye Jean Mathews, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born June 27, 1938, in Fordyce, Ark. A resident for 43 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Kay Hooks and Gwendolyn Mathews, both of Las Vegas, and Carrie Brown of Milwaukee; two sons, Julian Mathews and D'Andre Mathews, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Freeman Edward Mathews of Fordyce; five sisters, Rosie Jones and Margie Jacobs, both of Las Vegas, Barbara Thrower of Milwaukee, Vearlean Ganes of Hot Springs, Ark., and Carolyn J. Washington of Fordyce; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greater Bethel Church of God in Christ, 976 Hassell Ave. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Thomas A. Ricketts
Thomas A. Ricketts, 57, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 2, 1942, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 34 years, he was a pipe fitter, an Air Force veteran and a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 525.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; seven daughters, Carol Keiper of Bend, Ore., Constance Pine of Kingman, Ariz., Elesia Ricketts, Meiri Ricketts and Tommi Wellerton, all of Las Vegas, Laura Danbury of Kaiserslautern, Germany, and Bobbi Hasler of Las Vegas; two brothers, Stanley Ricketts of Steamboat, Colo., and Torry Ricketts of Las Vegas; one sister, Tammy Tyrone of Parker, Ariz.; and 16 grandchildren.
Services will be 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Bettie J. Tucker
Bettie J. Tucker, 71, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 15, 1929, in Kansas City, Kan. A resident for 11 years, she was a demonstrator at Costco.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two daughters, Denise Pfeiffer of Boise, Idaho, and Pamela Martin of Los Angeles; one son, Dennis Tucker of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Winfred 'Al' Walmer
Winfred 'Al' Walmer, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 5, 1917, in Luray, Kan. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired hotel bartender.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Sharpe of Las Vegas; one sister, Bernadine Savage of Davenport, Iowa; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. services Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
