BASEBALL

Cimarron-Memorial 6, Durango 5: Jeremy Reese doubled home a pair of runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to lead the host Spartans to victory. Reese finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs, while teammate Brian Ashton went 3-for-3 with three runs scored.

Green Valley 11, Las Vegas 3: Ben Scheinbaum improved to 3-0 on the season, tossing a complete-game three-hitter for the Gators. Green Valley chased Wildcats ace Anthony Pluta in the fifth inning, touching him up for seven runs. Scheinbaum also finished with a triple and three RBIs for the victors.

Silverado 19, Rancho 0: The Skyhawks got four home runs -- two from Mike Eshragh and one each from Jeremy West and Bobby Morvay -- in the win.

Cheyenne 10, Clark 0: Ryan Prince threw a five-inning no-hitter and freshman Pat Cladwell went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Desert Shields.

Bonanza 7, Centennial 3: Andrew Smith went 2-for-4 with two runs for the Bengals, who plated six runs in the final two innings. Austin Hales went 3-for-3 with two runs for the victors.

Palo Verde 4, Bishop Gorman 0: Larry Ellenbrook pitched seven innings of four-hit ball and went 1-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Panthers to the win. Marco Scolari went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Basic 14, Valley 2: Matt Elliott and Jeff Castle combined for a two-hitter and Jared Prisbrey went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Wolves to their ninth straight win.

Western 9, Mojave 8: Brian Clagett got the final two outs with the tying run on second base to preserve the Warriors' victory. Kevin Salsbury went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and Mike Trodick went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the win.

Eldorado 7, Foothill 3: Jarrod Hamilton hit a two-run triple in the first inning, propelling the Sundevils to a home win. Chris Hansen went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Eldorado, while teammate Bryan Frank was 2-for-2 with a double.

SOFTBALL

Eldorado 8, Foothill 0: Crystal Alspaugh tossed a three-hit shutout, striking out 10 batters for the Sundevils. Renee Gervais went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and sister Janelle Gervais went 2-for-3 in the win.

Green Valley 1, Las Vegas 0: The Gators got a first-inning home run from Allison Dunn and hung on behind the solid pitching of Suzanna Raygoza.

Silverado 15, Rancho 0: Mindy Ogan went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in a Skyhawk rout.

Durango 5, Cimarron-Memorial 0: Aja Sherman threw a complete-game four-hitter and Stefanie Fisco belted a home run to lead the Trailblazers.

Basic 2, Valley 1: Jen Bowen threw seven strong innings and Sara Thomas chipped in an RBI double for the Wolves.

Cheyenne 6, Clark 0: Suzette Alvarez struck out six batters in a complete-game win and Cassie Wood went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Bishop Gorman 8, Palo Verde 1: The Gaels won easily on the road.

Rancho def. Foothill, 5-15, 15-9, 15-11, 15-4: The Rams overcame 11 kills from the Falcons' Chris Sesson for the road victory. Nate Cureton added eight kills for Foothill in the losing cause.

Las Vegas def. Chaparral, 10-15, 15-2, 15-9, 15-9: Cliff Guiterrez racked up 12 kills and 14 blocks and John Hanson had 45 assists to lead the Wildcats. Chris Warburton had 14 kills for the victors.

Palo Verde def. Clark, 15-9, 15-10, 15-6: Lester Lewis had six kills and six blocks for the Chargers in the loss. Vitali Skripkin added seven kills for Clark.

Bishop Gorman def. Cimarron-Memorial 15-9, 6-15, 14-16, 15-12, 15-13: Matt Broussau had 25 assists, six digs and four blocks to spearhead a wild Gaels' victory. Will Quinn contributed 13 kills and Justin Yu added 10 kills for Gorman, while Mike Sagapolu had 14 kills for the Spartans.

Vo-Tech def. Eldorado, 15-8, 13-15, 15-10, 15-8: Dennis Trujillo had 14 kills and six blocks and Darfour Colin added 12 kills and four blocks for the Road Runners. Ryan Baxter finished with 29 assists for Vo-Tech.
