Robert Jordan Basford

Robert Jordan Basford, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born March 2, 1915, in California. A resident for 15 years, he was a plumber and a disabled veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Doug Basford and Carl Basford, both of Idaho; and numerous grandchildren.

Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling private arrangements.

Mary Virginia Bishop

Mary Virginia Bishop, 69, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Los Angeles. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired medical assistant and a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Lurton; three sons, David Bishop of Sunnyvale, Calif., Larry Bishop of Las Vegas and Dean Bishop of Henderson; and one daughter, Lynda Bishop of Henderson.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Central Christian Church, 3415 S. Mojave Road. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jennifer Lynne Booth

Jennifer Lynne Booth, 16, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 29, 1983, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a Las Vegas High School student, active in dance at school, a member of the Medical Explorers Group of Valley Hospital and worked part-time making telephone appointments.

She is survived by her mother, Lynne Booth, her father and stepmother, Dale and Harriett Booth, and one brother, Christopher Booth, all of Las Vegas; her grandparents, Nancy and Ted Gillespie of Painesville, Ohio, and Daniel and Josephine Pintaric and Cecil and Harriett Parker, all of Las Vegas; and her great-grandparents, Chester Piascik of Westerville, Ohio, Zinnia Stairs of Paragould, Ark., and Marcella Venable of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

V.J. Conlin

V.J. Conlin, 34, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born March 24, 1965, in Provo, Utah. He was a professional golfer.

He is survived by his parents, Val and Barbara Conlin of Henderson; and two brothers, Marc Conlin of New York City and Kevin Conlin of Draper, Utah.

Services are pending. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Linda June Demes

Linda June Demes, 49, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 10, 1950, in Salinas, Calif. A resident for more than 30 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John J. Jr.; one daughter, Linda J. Tisdale, two sons, John J. Demes III and Nicholas G. Demes, her father, Malcolm Thompson, and two sisters, Elizabeth Tisdale and Cheryl Snider, all of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Foursquare Church, 2929 Cedar St. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Michelle Eubanks

Michelle Eubanks, 31, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 7, 1968, in Cedar City, Utah. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker, school bus driver and school volunteer.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie; two daughters, Samantha Johnson and Cassandra Eubanks, and three sons, Ryan Johnson, Christopher Eubanks and Nickolas Eubanks, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Mary Jean Williams of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; and her grandparents, Emma Jean and Leon Mulliner of Kanab, Utah.

Paul J. Galop

Paul J. Galop, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 4, 1920, in Wheeling, W.Va. A resident for more than 40 years, he was a casino printer and a Navy veteran.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30-10:30 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Greg Alan Gregory

Greg Alan Gregory, 46, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 5, 1953, in San Gabriel, Calif. A resident for 13 years, he was a meat manager.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; two daughters, Dorrie McPhearson of Las Vegas and Gina Meredith of Pasadena, Texas; two sons, Jake Gregory of Houston and Tim Strickland of California; his parents, George and Bernice Gregory of Beaumont, Calif.; one brother, Blair Gregory of Kingman, Ariz.; two sisters, Shari Audello of Yucaipa, Calif., and Placia Orr of Mesa, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.

Catalina Hernandez

Catalina Hernandez, 92, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 25, 1907, in Havana. A resident for 19 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Zulema Fuentes of Pomona, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Gennette A. Johnson

Gennette A. Johnson, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 1, 1931, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired county clerk receptionist.

She is survived by her husband, Howard; two sons, Amos Eric Hayes Jr. and Anthony U. Hayes, both of Los Angeles; one daughter, Bernadette L. Jenkins of Palm Springs, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Reavy Tugwell Johnson

Reavy Tugwell Johnson, 75, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Monroe, La. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired nurse's aide.

She is survived by her mother, Leola G. Wright of North Las Vegas; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Lorraine V. Kinkenon

Lorraine V. Kinkenon, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born July 27, 1926, in Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, John; three sons, Kevin Kinkenon and Matthew Kinkenon, both of Las Vegas, and Joseph Kinkenon of St. Louis; one daughter, Valerie Bussey of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.

Richard Levine

Richard Levine, 58, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 23, 1943, in New York. A resident for four years, he was a veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Fred Levine of Newport, Calif.

Jahara Manungkalit

Jahara Manungkalit, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 13, 1945, in Indonesia. A resident for three months, he was a pastor at the Trinity Life Center Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife, Nurhaida; one son, Ricko Simanungkalit of Las Vegas, Novita Simanungkalit of Indonesia and Laura Simanungkalit of Los Angeles; five brothers, Jack Simanungkalit, Batara Simanungkalit, Anwar Simanungkalit, Maniur Simanungkalit and Johny Andar Simanungkalit, and one sister, Berlian Simanungkalit, all of Indonesia.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Indonesia.

Christina Neubauer

Christina Neubauer, 47, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 5, 1952, in Oak Hill, Ohio. A resident for 34 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Robert B. Neubauer and Nicholas L. Neubauer, her companion, Bob Schultz, her parents, Bernie and Bev Kulifay, and one sister, Myra Harts, all of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Col. Bernard E. Kulifay Jr. of Newport, R.I., Maj. Stephen E. Kulifay of Albuquerque, N.M., and Maj. John Kulifay of Korea.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

John A. Orlando

John A. Orlando, 52, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1947, in New York City. A resident for five years, he was a security guard for a car dealership.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; two daughters, Dawn Marie Orlando of New York City and Josephine Corcoran of East Stroudsburg, Pa.; one son, John E. Orlando of Westminster, Colo.; and one brother, Gary Orlando of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Visitation was scheduled 2-5 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

David Raymond Parr

David Raymond Parr, 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 19, 1946, in California. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired government communications specialist and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Ann; one daughter, Lorraine Dillingham of Henderson; one son, Eric Parr of Las Vegas; his mother, Arvilla Jordan of Albuquerque; one sister, Pat Murphy of Ahwahnee, Calif.; one brother, Don Parr of Denver; and three grandchildren.

Private services are being arranged by Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Gene Risling

Gene Risling, 73, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 10, 1927, in Yankton, S.D. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired engineer in the construction industry and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Michele Jones of Henderson and Denise Shrum of Park Hall, Md.; two sons, Bradley Risling of Las Vegas and Douglas Risling of Hollywood, Md.; two stepbrothers, Dallas Risling of Yankton, S.D., and Charles Risling of Omaha, Neb.; one stepsister, Mary Ann Raynor of Omaha; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 4 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

John Roddy Jr.

John Roddy Jr., 68, of Ely died March 6. He was born May 25, 1931, in Augusta, Ark. A former Las Vegas resident for two years, he was a retired Army staff sergeant, a Korean War and Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of the Arrowhead Elks Lodge.

He is survived by two daughters, Macha Roddy and Tatianna Roddy, both of Las Vegas; four sons, Noel Roddy of Detroit, Carl Roddy and John Roddy IV, both of Las Vegas and Kevin Jackson of San Bernardino, Calif.;. three sisters, Cora Mae Roddy, Bobbie Roddy and Linda Roddy, and three brothers, J.B. Gibbs, Joe Gibbs and Milton Roddy, all of Augusta; and 11 grandchildren.

Raymond O. Shemp

Raymond O. Shemp, 81, of Beatty died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 13, 1918, in Dove Creek, Colo. A resident for 36 years, he was a heavy equipment operator for the federal government and a member of Operating Engineers Local 12.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla R.; five sons, Richard McGregor of Henderson, Dall R. Shemp of Beatty, Arthur T. Baker of Redmond, Wash., David E. Baker of Sheridan, Ore., and Dennis P. Baker of Belfair, Wash.; three daughters, Dixie K. Davis of Beatty, Denise P. Lombard of Rocklin, Calif., and Lucille M. Vickers of Pahrump; 31 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

William H. Simcox

William H. Simcox, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 17, 1917, in Marinette, Wis. A resident for two years, he was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, a member of the Retired Officers Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Air Force Association and American Legion.

He is survived by one daughter, Lois Redmond of Las Vegas; one son, William F. Simcox of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A military memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Nellis Air Force Base chapel. Burial will be in Kansas. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Anthony Tyrie Smith, 14, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 13, 1985, in Anaheim, Calif. A resident for 10 years, he was a school student.

He is survived by his parents, Brigitte M. Smith of Las Vegas and Tunstall J. Smith Sr. of Alabama; one brother, T.J. Smith Jr. of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Jane Heckard of Los Angeles, Alvin Burdette Sr. of Lake Providence, La., and Adolph and Mary Smith of Salem, Ala.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services are scheduled 10 a.m. Saturday in Shadow Hills Baptist Church. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday in Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, Calif.

Victor Stokes

Victor Stokes, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 26, 1910, in Malad, Idaho. A resident for 34 years, he was a conservationist for the U.S. Forest Service, a former member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Society of American Foresters, Society of Range Management, Nevada State Seniors Golf Club and Las Vegas Golf Club.

He is survived by one daughter, Sheryl Tapia of Las Vegas; two brothers, Darrell L. Stokes of Ogden, Utah, and Lowell S. Stokes of Mesa, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Meadows Ward LDS chapel, 3200 Mustang St.

Berval E. Thorson

Berval E. Thorson, 71, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1928, in Mondovi, Wis. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired construction salesman and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, two daughters, Julie Allord and Susan Nagy, all of Henderson; two sons, Mark Thorson of Juneau, Alaska, and Bryn Thorson of Henderson; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 1 p.m. Friday in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson is handling arrangements.
