Second superintendent candidate named

Carlos Arturo Garcia is the second candidate for Clark County Schools superintendent, the Clark County School board announced this morning.
He is currently superintendent of the Fresno Unified School District in California, which has 78,000 students. He has been there since 1997.
Before Fresno, he was superintendent Sanger Unified School District in California from 1994 to 1997, and was an area superintendent in Fresno. He was also a school principal at several cities in California and a high school social studies teacher.
Garcia is being interviewed this afternoon by the School Board and the Superintendent Selection Process Committee. A third candidate will be announced tomorrow.
