Passenger traffic up 11.9 percent at McCarran

The passenger count rose to 2,823,756 in February, compared to 2,522,545 for the same month last year.
For the year, the number of passengers arriving and departing McCarran increased 9.4 percent, from 5,026,932 to 5,498,800.
Southwest Airlines posted the highest increase among airlines serving Las Vegas, up 14.1 percent over February 1999. Delta followed with a 7.7 percent increase and America West had an increase of 4 percent.
American was down 8.1 percent, followed by United Airlines with a .9 percent decrease.
