Six northern Nevada women honored as role models

"These women are being recognized for making a difference in their community. They were selected from among a very distinguished group of women nominated for a Women's Role Model Award by their peers," Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa said in conferring the honors.
Those receiving the awards were Nancy Cope, former news director at KTVN-TV in Reno; Ronna Hubbard, an emergency medical technician in Lake Topaz; Assemblywoman Sheila Leslie, D-Reno; Suzanne Stockdale, owner of Creative Advertising and Marketing in Minden; Lourinda Wines, a Ruby Valley rancher, and retiring Assemblywoman Jan Evans, D-Sparks.
