Sport: Softball
Currently: Arata has started all 22 games at second base for the 7-15 Shockers, compiling a .935 fielding percentage. She is batting .273, fourth among Wichita State players, and has contributed eight doubles, seven RBIs and six runs scored.
Looking back: Arata was a two-time all-state selection, earning a spot on the first team following a junior season in which she batted .348 with 28 RBIs. In her four varsity seasons, she helped the Skyhawks to four zone titles. As a senior, her Silverado squad advanced all the way to the 4A state championship.
