Aid for AIDS of Nevada is seeking corporate sponsors, volunteers and individuals to participate in its 10th annual AIDS Walk on April 9.
The walk will begin in front of Macy's at the Fashion Show mall and travel up Las Vegas Boulevard to New York-New York, from where it will return to Macy's for closing ceremonies.
More than $165,000 was raised at last year's event. Proceeds from the walk go toward services for people affected by HIV and AIDS. Event planners are hoping to raise $250,000 at this year's event.
The valley's eight California Federal Bank branches are accepting contributions toward the race this month. Contributors purchase ribbons for $1, $3 or $5, which are then posted in the bank branch.
