Tom Lettero, chief financial officer of the Stratosphere hotel-casino, will resign to join Aladdin Gaming, developer of the new Aladdin hotel-casino on the Strip.
Lettero, who will be CFO of Aladdin Gaming, said he'll leave the Stratosphere within 90 days. A replacement has yet to be found.
"It's got a great location, and it's just turning out to be a tremendous product," Lettero said.
Lettero will replace Cory Klerk, who is leaving as Aladdin Gaming's CFO to pursue personal interests, the company said.
Lettero is the second top Stratosphere executive to leave the company in recent weeks. At the end of February, Dan Cassella left as president and chief executive, though he still works as an adviser to Stratosphere owner Carl Icahn. Lettero had been designated as Cassella's replacement.
"We're working on a transition plan," Lettero said. "The search is on to appoint a chief operating officer and a CFO."
The Aladdin is set to open Aug. 17.
