Letter: Seated passengers wouldn’t get hurt

This puzzled me after looking at the picture. How could so many people could be injured if they were seated? I have never been on an airliner that when it was landing, the flight attendant or someone with the airline announced: "Please! all passengers remain in their seats until the plane stops moving at the docking area."
