Sister Carol, director of religious education at St. Therese The Little Flower Church on Kietzke Lane in southeast Reno, said the apology has been a long time coming. And she said his words speak for all Catholics.
Monsignor Robert Bowling said the apology is a reminder that the church is a human organization run by human beings inspired by God who sometimes make mistakes.
"The church has more than a billion people. It's over 2,000 years old. We're willing to accept our guilt," he said.
