Franklin 'Shorty Harris' Burkhart
Franklin "Shorty Harris" Burkhart, 66, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in North Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 17, 1933, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired automobile mechanic and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline; four sons, David Burkhart of Englewood, Colo., Steven Burkhart of Denver, Dennis Burkhart of Carencro, La., and Richard Burkhart of Las Vegas; one stepson, Gary Schramm of Las Vegas; five sisters, Margaret, Myrtle, Darlene, Ethel and Dorothy, and his former wife, Pearl Burkhart, all of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 2785 E. Desert Inn Road, Suite 140, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
Sandra L. Heideman
Sandra L. Heideman, 57, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 30, 1942, in Texas. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired care center nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck; two sons, Robert Bales and Christopher Bales, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Leslie Heideman of California; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements

Violet Korhnak
Violet Korhnak, 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 30, 1928, in Illinois. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one sister, Pearl Bono of Chicago.
Burial will be in Illinois. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Carl Lauridsen
Carl Lauridsen, 62, of Las Vegas died Nov. 29, 1999 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 4, 1937, in Illinois. A resident for many years, he was a painter.
He is survived by one sister, Karen Holtz.

Reeda Frances Marx
Reeda Frances Marx, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 31, 1918, in Illinois. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Michael Marx of Calhoun, Ga.; one daughter, Reeda Vozikis of Las Vegas; and one brother, William Marx of Milan, Ill.

Beverly M. McClure
Beverly M. McClure, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Newton, Mass. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired office manager, a member of the Symphony Guild and the Assistance League of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; one son, Peter McClure of Grover Beach, Calif.; one sister, Janice Myers of San Diego; and one grandchild.
A memorial service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
George F. McIntyre
George F. McIntyre, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Riverside, Calif. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired oil company production clerk and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Retha Marie; one daughter, Barbara Warren of Lakewood, Colo.; one son, Robert McIntyre of McMinnville, Ore.; one sister, Gerry Thomas of Buena Park, Calif.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Zyama Pevtsov
Zyama Pevtsov, 61, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 15, 1935, in Belarus. A resident for many years, he was a furniture assembler.
He is survived by one son, Alek Pevtsov of Valley Village, Calif.

Thelma B. Stone
Thelma B. Stone, 92, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Sept. 5, 1907, in Grindstone, Mich. A resident for many years, she was a nurse.
She is survived by one son, John Rathbun of Henderson; one sister, Grita Kellner of Lowell, Mich.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Michigan. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Gertrude M. Vela
Gertrude M. Vela, 62, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born July 5, 1937, in Pendelton, Ill. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Israel; two daughters, Mary Tracy and Amanda Lamb, five sons, Allen "Les" Vela, Israel Vela Jr., Charles Vela, Thomas Vela and Bernie Vela, and one sister, Alice Knight, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Bud Gemkow of Covina, Calif., and Thomas Gemkow of Fontana, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Wallace K. Wring
Wallace K. Wring, 76, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. He was born June 13, 1923, in Idaho. A resident for 32 years, he was a carpenter, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Carpenters Local 1977.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; one son, Ted Wring of Las Vegas; three daughters, Carol Carter and Barbara Wilkes, both of Idaho, and Norma Walters of California; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, followed by burial in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
