Free legal services offered to public
Clark County Legal Services, a local nonprofit service that offers civil legal services to residents in need, opens its new office building Tuesday at 800 S. Eighth St.
Eligible clients may receive advice and representation on Social Security Benefits, housing and landlord/tenant issues and disability issues. The center also provides free legal education classes to the public.
The $424,000 project was funded by federal grants from the City of Las Vegas.
Elementary students to join poster contest
Nevada Day Inc. is inviting elementary students grades 3 through 5 and middle school students grades 6 through 8 to participate in the Nevada Day Poster Contest. Winners receive a $100 U.S. Savings Bond.

WomensCare presents endometriosis seminar
The Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence is presenting a free seminar on endometriosis 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the center, 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite No. 330.
OB/GYN Timothy Sauter will show slides with explanations on the symptoms, causes and available treatments of endometriosis. Call 914-7060.
Holiday Inn hosts women in business talk
"Sadie" also known as Marnie Winston-Macauley, will speak to the Pinon Chapter of the American Business Women's Association as part of its annual Woman of the Year Event 6 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn hotel-casino, Emerald Room, 325 E. Flamingo Road. Call Sheila Hodges at 795-3080.
Stress relief workshop is offered
The city of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a stress solutions workshop 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway.
Participants will develop a greater understanding of their needs to manage the effect stress has on their personal and professional lives. Call 435-3814.
Las Vegas to host Women's Summit 2000
The Women's Summit 2000 will be held from 8:30 a.m.-5:15 p.m. on Saturday at the Riviera hotel-casino. Registration fee is $55; student fee is $30 and includes lunch. For more information, call (888) 321-3847 or 615-2383.
History seminar to be held at the Riviera
"Echoes of the Past" is the title of the state conference of the Nevada Women's History Project.
