Nevada and California Civil Air Patrol units are continuing a search for a plane that took off from the North Las Vegas Airport Monday and never reached its destination in Chino, Calif.
The three-seat Piper Supercruiser was piloted by a man from Chino who had been in town for last weekend's NASCAR race, where he flew advertising banners over the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Civil Air Patrol spokesman Charles McCarty said.
The CAP search began on Tuesday, McCarty said. Since then, the Nevada CAP has had up to eight planes searching from Las Vegas to near Baker, Calif.
