Stained glass class to adorn skills
The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is hosting two stained glass workshops this month. The first is 10 a.m.-noon Monday at the Lorna J. Kesterson Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St., Henderson. The second is 9:30 a.m.-noon March 25 at the Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway.
Cost is $20 and includes use of glasscutters and sanding tools. Participant may bring supplies from home or pick up a list of needed tools at registration. Supplies cost approximately $20. Call 565-2121.
Palace Station holds estrogen forum
A forum on estrogen replacement therapy will be held 6 p.m. Thursday at the Palace Station hotel-casino, sponsored by Southwest Medical Associates and Wyeth-Ayerst Global Pharmaceuticals.
The forum will feature nationally recognized breast health specialist Judy C. Kneece, Certified Oncology Nurse, and a panel of health care providers.
Seating is limited for the free forum. Call 240-8848.
Home health firm leads abuse talk
A luncheon on recognizing elder abuse is scheduled 10 a.m. Monday at Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, 2075 E. Flamingo Road.
A representative from Nevada Regional Home Health Care will discuss how to recognize elder abuse. Lunch will be provided. Call 369-7911.
Lads of Notre Dame usher in festivities
The Notre Dame Glee Club will perform a special concert for St. Patrick's Day, 7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.
The concert will benefit scholarships for local students wishing to attend Notre Dame. This is part of the weeklong celebration by the Sons of Erin. Call 385-4007.
Campus sponsors Information Day
UNLV's Division of Continuing Education will host a part-time Instructor Information Day 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at UNLV's Dungan Humanities Building.
Continuing Education is always looking for new ideas and new instructors with a solid knowledge of relevant subjects in business, trades and self-help skills, as well as people with teaching talent in the arts, culture, and personal growth and recreational areas. Children's book unveiled at hospital
St. Rose Dominican Hospital will unveil a special children's book 2-4 p.m. Saturday in the main hospital lobby, 102 E. Lake Mead Drive.
