J.R. Henderson poured in a game-high 38 points for Las Vegas but it wasn't enough as the New Mexico Slam ran past the Silver Bandits 117-101 Monday night in an International Basketball League game at Albuquerque.
The win pulls the Slam within a half-game of Las Vegas for second place in the IBL West.
New Mexico (24-18) had five players in double figures led by Andre Perry's 20-point performance. Cory Carr had 19 while Andy Panko and Jason Sasser added 17 apiece. Bryant Notree added 12 points for the Slam.
"I thought we played on tired legs and New Mexico played with more life," said Silver Bandits coach Rolland Todd. "We needed some more intensity tonight."
