Price at the pumps to only get worse

Around the Reno, Carson City and Minden areas, the price per gallon for regular unleaded ranges from around $1.63 to $1.83. That's as much as 20 cents above the national average.
On Monday, the federal government warned consumers to be prepared to pay more by summer.
Some Lake Tahoe-area gas stations already charge $2 for premium.
"We're not that far away," said Steve Yarborough, president of the Nevada Gasoline Retailers Association and owner of several gas stations in the Reno area.
Yarborough said his wholesale fuel cost rose 15 1/2 cents over a four-day period last week. He added his stations are trying to hold the retail price of premium gasoline, which typically runs 10 cents higher than regular, under $2.
"I haven't got the intestinal fortitude to be the first to hit two dollars on premium," he said.
