Immunizations

Health District immunization clinics are open each week in Southern Nevada. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 36 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open this week, March 8 through March 14:

DISTRICT HEALTH CENTER: 625 Shadow Lane, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

NORTH LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 3262 Civic Center Drive, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

HENDERSON PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 129 W. Lake Mead Drive, Building A, Suite 10, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

EAST LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

EOB NORTH LAS VEGAS WIC: 5A E. Tonopah Ave., 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Wednesday.

SOUTHEAST CLINIC: 130 N. Pecos (St. Thomas More Catholic Community -- Parish Hall), 9 a.m.-noon, Thursday.

SOUTHWEST CHILD HEALTH CLINIC: Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive and Tropicana Avenue, noon-4 p.m. Friday.

FREMONT MEDICAL CLINIC: 4880 S. Wynn Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Immunizations free to anyone who walks in.

BELROSE WIC OFFICE: 2917 W. Washington Ave., 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Monday

EPICENTER CLINIC: 2100 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 5, noon-4 p.m. March 14.

NORTHEAST WIC CLINIC: 2404 E. Stewart, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. March 14.

Tax preparation

The Von Tobel Community Center's computer lab is offering the use of Turbo Tax, a tax preparation computer program, free of charge 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturday at the center, 3610 E. Carey Ave.

Customers can use Turbo Tax to prepare and print tax forms. Step-by-step guidance, on-screen tax guide and videos are available. Turbo Tax also automatically double checks returns for errors and missing deductions. Call Earl Bostie at 455-7699 for more information.

Council holds bus tour in Las Vegas

A seniors housing bus tour sponsored by the National Council on Senior's Housing is scheduled 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday. Cost is $60. Call (800) 363-5242, Ext. 220.

Free tax-filing help is made available

AARP is offering a free tax assistance program from 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Senior Friends MountainView office, 8524 Del Webb Blvd. The volunteers are trained by the Internal Revenue Service. Call 255-5404 for a reservation.
