Letter: Neal takes fair stance on casinos
Monday, March 6, 2000 | 9:05 a.m.
I, too, believe in a 5 percent tax increase on the gross revenues of casinos and I've never thought they've paid their fair share. They go to other states and pay a helluva lot more. But hey, guys, this is where you got you start and your great executive easy living.
I think it would have been better to just have Nevada and New Jersey as gambling meccas. How about us -- the people who enter your enticing casinos and mostly we give our money away? Give some of it back to the locals who made you rich!
Joe Neal is my hero. I am a Democrat and I voted against Jan Laverty Jones as governor because I think she is one of the Greedy Guts of the casino industry.
Doesn't anyone believe in fair play for everyone any more?
