Kambala, Johnson, Bayno earn conference honors

UNLV center Kaspars Kambala today was chosen to the all-Mountain West Conference first team, Dalron Johnson was named co-freshman of the year and Bill Bayno was selected as co-coach of the year.
Rebels guard Mark Dickel made the all-conference second team.
Johnson shared the freshman award with Air Force's Tom Bellairs, while Bayno and Air Force's Reggie Minton split coaching honors. The Rebels' Trevor Diggs made the all-newcomer team.
Utah forward Alex Jensen was named MWC player of the year, and the other first-team picks are New Mexico's Lamont Long, Utah's Hanno Mottola and Wyoming's Josh Davis. The second team is filled out by Wyoming's Ceedric Goodwyn, Wyoming's Anthony Blakes, Air Force's Jarvis Croff and BYU's Mikeli Wesley.
BYU's Terrell Lyday was named newcomer of the year.
