Agnes L. Conrady

Agnes L. Conrady, 86, of Las Vegas died Feb. 22 in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 26, 1913, in Kewanee, Ill. A resident for 15 years, she was an insurance secretary.

She is survived by one son, Alan Conrady of Mesquite; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Morton Eber

Morton Eber, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born May 5, 1927, in New York City. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired county government supervisor, a Navy veteran and past president of the Southern Nevada Alliance for the Mentally Ill.

He is survived by his wife, Mary L., one daughter, Michele Eber, and one son, Matthew Eber, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Services are scheduled 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

The family requests donations to the Harbor House Hospice or the Southern Nevada Alliance for the Mentally Ill.

William J. Fetterer

William J. Fetterer, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 18, 1926, in New York. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired police officer and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three daughters, Janet Ochoa of Newbury Park, Calif., Coleen Nosker of Henderson and Kathleen Fetterer of Lakewood, Colo.; one son, Michael Fetterer of Blacklake Village, Calif.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be private. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Mary Ann Gates

Mary Ann Gates, 59, of Las Vegas died Feb. 19 in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 18, 1941, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 18 years, she was an accountant and a member of the Swing Dance Organization.

She is survived by one son, Marc Francis Addona of New York and three grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 6 p.m. March 23 at the Riviera hotel-casino in the penthouse for friends and loved ones. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Lew R. Gohmes

Lew R. Gohmes, 92, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 14, 1907, in Escalon, Calif. A resident for two years, he was a cattle rancher.

He is survived by one daughter, Marg Herndon of Las Vegas; one brother, Edward Gomes of Fort Bragg, Calif.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mary Jean Hammond

Mary Jean Hammond, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born June 20, 1924, in Norman, Okla. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired waitress/hostess.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; three sons, Fred Hammond Jr. of Stockton, Calif., Jerry Hammond of Las Vegas and John Hammond of Newland, N.C.; one sister, Anita Gordon of California City, Calif.; one brother, Kenneth Hammond of Cherry Valley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Catherine Hathaway

Catherine Hathaway, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Union City, Ind. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Jim Hathaway of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. is handling arrangements.

Melvin R. Klausmeyer

Melvin R. Klausmeyer, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 24, 1919, in St. Louis. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired resort owner/operator and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma.

Graveside services are scheduled 12:40 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Ernest M. Lander

Ernest M. Lander, 65, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1935, in Maiden, Mass. A resident for three years, he was a retired telecommunications salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one daughter, Sarah Marks of Henderson; two sons, Michael Lander of Los Angeles and Henry Lander of Casselberry, Fla.; one sister, Sandra Tatelman of Pittsburgh; one brother, Robert Lander of Worcester, Mass.; and two grandchildren.

Muriel N. 'Granny' Lyman

Muriel N. "Granny" Lyman, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 28, 1914, in Collinsville, Texas. A 39 year resident, she was a homemaker and a member of the Independent Order of Foresters.

She is survived by one daughter, Karla Houghtaling of Dexter, Mich.; one son, Jay F. Hull of Las Vegas; her stepmother, Laura Renfroe of Whitesboro, Texas; one sister, Doris Renfroe of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services are scheduled noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

Lina Marotti

Lina Marotti, 91, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born July 28, 1908, in Italy. A longtime resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Chuck Marotti of Shiller Park, Ill., and Paul Marotti of Las Vegas; and one daughter, Sylvia.

Rita Nathaniel

Rita Nathaniel, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born June 21, 1922, in Bangor, Maine. A resident for 35 years, she was a showroom waitress and a member of the Moose Lodge of Henderson and past member of North Las Vegas Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She is survived by one son, Skip Bernard of Henderson; two daughters, Linda Tatem of Las Vegas and Judy Raymond of New Hampshire; one brother, Harold E. Constantine of New Hampshire; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Nevada Funeral Service Chapel, 2983 Fremont St.

Isadore Newsbaum

Isadore Newsbaum, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 5, 1917, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. A resident for one year, he was a retired insurance agent, a member of the Knights of Pythias and a former member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; one daughter, Shirley McGee of Las Vegas; one brother, Harry Newsbaum of Kingston, Pa.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Beverly Rhodes

Beverly Rhodes, 72, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 19, 1927, in Draper, Utah. A resident for 39 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Duane, two sons, Rick Shea and Randy Shea, all of Boulder City; one stepdaughter, Jacoy of Roosevelt, Utah; one sister, LaRae Callistos of Midville, Utah; one brother, Ralph Beck of West Jordan, Utah; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services are scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday in Boulder City Cemetery.

Frank Serwatka

Frank Serwatka, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Ellsworth, Pa. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant, a World War II veteran who landed in Normandy on D-Day as a paratrooper, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, M. LaVerne; two stepdaughters, Louella Amendt of Michigan and Karen Croucher of La Mesa, Calif.; four stepsons, Doc Croucher and Steve Croucher, both of San Diego, Larry Croucher of Indianapolis and Mike Croucher of Carmel, Ind.; one sister, Dottie Hampe of Pennsylvania; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services are scheduled 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm, Downtown. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

Linda Stephenson

Linda Stephenson, 60, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 11, 1939, in Texas. A resident for 39 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, one son, Allen Stephenson, and two daughters, Lori Tate and Diane Preze, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Rita Sue Saunders, Ricki Seaton and Molly Randolph, all of Texas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services are scheduled 2 p.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Lloyd M. Swinney

Lloyd M. Swinney, 57, of New York died Sunday in Schenectady, N.Y. He was born May 8, 1942, in Tyler, Texas. A former resident of Las Vegas, he recently moved to retire. He was in the insulation business and was a 33-year member of Asbestos Workers Local 135.

He is survived by his wife, Bette; one son, Gerald Swinney and one daughter, Sandra McGuckin, both of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services are scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will be in Bunkers Memory Garden.

Elron Santos Valmoja

Elron Santos Valmoja, 53, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born March 27, 1946, in Honolulu. A resident for 15 years, he was a bartender in the gaming industry.

He is survived by one daughter, Michelene.

Lawrence A. Vaughan

Lawrence A. Vaughan, 51, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 27, 1948, in Mount Vernon, N.Y. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant who served 20 years and was a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lewonna; two daughters, Candice Wade of Baumholder, Germany, and Kimberly Vaughan of Fort Hood, Texas; two sons, Bryan Gross-Vaughan and Anthony Vaughan, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Andy Vaughan of Mount Vernon and Bobby Vaughan and Michael Vaughan, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Gerald Burnett Webster

Gerald Burnett Webster, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 28, 1924, in New York. A resident for 10 years, he was in the aerospace systems development industry and was an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lee; one son, Gerald Webster; three daughters, Tracine Restrepo and Sandra Webster, both of California, and Michelle Owens of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Sanford Weiss

Sanford Weiss, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born March 5, 1927, in Newark, N.J. A resident for five years, he was a retired construction electrician, a World War II Army and Navy veteran, a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 11 and a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Marla; one daughter, Stacy Weiss of Playa Del Rey, Calif.; one son, Scott Weiss of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled 2 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Sharon Ann Wright

Sharon Ann Wright, 57, of Las Vegas died Feb. 23 in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 17, 1942, in Illinois. A resident for 18 years, she was a waitress.

She is survived by two sons, Michael and Glendon; one daughter, Laura; one sister, Sandra Blackwell; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
