IGT dismisses suit against two LV companies

International Game Technology dismissed patent infringement claims against Casino Data Systems and Sigma Game Inc., both Las Vegas slot machine manufacturers.
IGT accused the two companies in September of infringing a patent relating to the use of "touch screen" technology in slot machines. IGT did not disclose why it chose to dismiss the case in its filing with U.S. District Court in Las Vegas.
Also named as defendants in the September lawsuit were WMS Gaming Inc. and Silicon Gaming Inc. IGT is still pursuing its case against those companies, and recently served complaints on both companies.
The September lawsuit prompted WMS to file a countersuit against IGT, charging antitrust violations by the Reno slot machine giant.
