California records show a man accused of robbing and killing a Las Vegas senior citizen in December was convicted of beating and robbing a 75-year-old Pasadena woman 13 years ago.
Records from the California Department of Corrections also show that after being released on that sentence, Anthony Dotson was returned to prison five times on parole violations.
Dotson, 41, was to be arraigned Thursday on charges he stalked, robbed and killed 79-year-old Doris Bair in her home here Dec. 12.
Police say that days after the slaying Dotson attacked 87-year-old Kathryn Waldman of Las Vegas in a parking lot at University Medical Center. Waldman was knocked unconscious and her vehicle stolen.
Clark County District Attorney Stewart Bell and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police detectives said it is apparent that Dotson has established a pattern of victimizing seniors.
"He certainly is consistent in his prior offenses," Homicide Sgt. Ken Hefner said Wednesday.
A Las Vegas newspaper, citing California Superior Court records, reported Dotson pleaded guilty in 1987 to robbery in the beating of Olive Pemberton, 75, at her Pasadena home.
