Nevada gas prices soaring

Las Vegas gasoline prices jumped 11 cents per gallon in the past two weeks, AAA reported Tuesday.
AAA said its price survey found an average price of $1.58 per gallon in Las Vegas. The price jumped 17 cents a gallon to $1.68 in Reno.
"Lower refinery output and higher crude costs are pushing gas prices up sharply," said AAA Nevada spokesman Paul Moreno.
AAA quoted an oil analyst as saying gasoline inventories are unusually low on the West Coast for this time of year because of planned and unplanned refinery shutdowns. The refineries should be back in operation and the market more stable in a few weeks, the analyst said.
