Prospective judges introduced

Seventeen prospective judges hoping to get the votes of their fellow attorneys gathered Thursday for a luncheon sponsored by the Clark County Bar Association.
Dan Polsenberg, president-elect of the state bar of Nevada, set the tone for the luncheon -- giving each attorney just one minute to introduce themselves and explain why they want to be a family court or justice court judge.
The luncheon was held at the Golden Nugget hotel-casino.
Some candidates stressed their experience, others their commitment to families and all the need for a more courteous, efficient and sensitive judicial system.
Mediation, arbitration and the need for a stronger leadership were among the topics lightly touched upon during a question-and-answer session.
Those appearing at the luncheon were Family Court Department I candidates, Phil Beuth, Paul V. Carelli III, Robert Kurth and Cheryl Moss; Department J candidates Lisa Brown, William Henderson, Chuck Hoskin and Gayle Beck Nathan; and Department K candidates, Nicholas Anthony Del Vecchio, Matthew Paul Harter, Jack Howard and Beth Wachsman.
Las Vegas Justice Court Eight candidates George Assad, Torris Brand, Ronald Dalrymple and Dale Haley attended and North Las Vegas Justice Court candidate Randall Pike appeared as well.
