Late Sen. Bible will be honored
A tree-planting ceremony honoring the late Sen. Alan Bible will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Paradise Park.
The Paradise Democratic Club in conjunction with the Nevada State and Clark County Democratic parties are sponsoring the event. The program will include comments by Sen. Richard Bryan, Rep. Shelley Berkley, Democratic Party Chairman Rory Reid and other prominent Democrats.
At the conclusion of the ceremony a bird will be released in Bible's memory.
UBS plans event at Galleria mall
United Blood Services will hold a special four-day blood drive in preparation for the Fourth of July 11 a.m.-5 p.m. from Saturday through Tuesday at the Galleria at Sunset mall on the lower level near JC Penney.
All donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more, be in good health and present a valid ID or donor card. Donors will receive a Fourth of July souvenir T-shirt or CD case while they last. Call United Blood Services at 228-8400.
Class reunion
