Authorities have ruled suicide in the death of a man who tumbled down the face of 726-foot tall Hoover Dam in an incident captured on videotape.
Terry Weiner, 46, of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Steve Johnson, a spokesman for the Mohave County Sheriff's Office in Kingman, Ariz., said a man and his 3-year-old daughter saw the victim just as he went over a 4-foot-tall wall that runs along the top of the dam, 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas.
Johnson said at least one tourist captured the incident on videotape, which was turned over to Arizona authorities.
Monday's incident occurred on the Arizona side of the dam, which sits on the Nevada-Arizona border.
No note was found.
Bob Walsh, a spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, said there had been 21 suicides at the dam the past 40 years.
