StumbleBusiness groups hosting mixer to fight tax

The Nevada Manufacturers Association said it's co-sponsoring a mixer Thursday for local business people to drum up support for the fight by business interests against a proposed new 4 percent tax on business profits.
The Nevada State Education Association is proposing the tax to improve funding for schools.
Local political candidates and lobbyists opposing the tax are expected to attend Thursday's mixer, scheduled for 5 p.m. at Pierce Street Annex Restaurant, 1030 E. Flamingo Road.
