George Lewis Berger
George Lewis Berger, 51, of New York City died Monday in New York City. He was born Feb. 26, 1949, in the Bronx, N.Y. A former Las Vegas resident, he worked with ABC in New York for 33 years.
He is survived by two daughters; his mother, Violet Berger, and one sister, Sue Kinsler, both of Las Vegas.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Hattie R. Coulter
Hattie R. Coulter, 99, of North Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born April 18, 1901, in Winnsboro, La. A resident for many years, she was a hotel housekeeper.
She is survived by one sister, Orell Thomas of Shreveport, La.; one niece and nephew, Lewis and Bea Moss of North Las Vegas; one granddaughter, Sharon Price of Las Vegas; two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Terri Lynn Delatorre
Terri Lynn Delatorre, 37, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 10, 1962, in Bentwaters, England. A resident for eight years, she was a hotel banquet server and an Air Force veteran.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Sr.; three daughters, Michelle Delatorre, Melisa Delatorre and Victoria Delatorre, all of Las Vegas; five sons, Jose Delatorre Jr., Trey Winnett, Trever Winnett and Tyler Winnett, all of Las Vegas, and Dustin Murray of Louisiana; her father, Freel Wallace of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Donna Corsaut of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Sanford Wallace of Fayetteville and Robert Wallace of Las Vegas.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Verna Lafevers
Verna Lafevers, 59, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 28, 1940, in Weatherford, Texas. A resident for 34 years, she was a retired hospital admitting clerk.
She is survived by her husband, Harlie; two daughters, Kathy Sue McGinness of Waskom, Texas, and Claudette Hamilton of Las Vegas; one son, Harlie Earl Lafevers Jr. of Las Vegas; her father, Claude C. Cornman of Coolidge, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Ruby Mae Mackie
Ruby Mae Mackie, 47, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 4, 1952, in Helena, Ark. A resident for 42 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Bishop Carlton Mackie; three daughters, Lakeesha House, Saihiki Mackie and Saleetha Snow, one son, Shonteau Backus, and her mother, Zinnomia Edwards, all of Las Vegas.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Wellsprings Christian Center, 1401 N. Decatur Blvd. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Minnie Nowakowski
Minnie Nowakowski, 92, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 19, 1908, in Ohio. A resident for more than five years, she was a homemaker.
No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Ohio. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Diane K. Shove
Diane K. Shove, 50, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 20, 1950, in New York City. A resident for 41 years, she was an assistant right-of-way agent for the Las Vegas Valley Water District.
She is survived by her husband, John Gibbs; and one brother, Jeffrey Shove of South Carolina.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Martha Louise Stoner
Martha Louise Stoner, 92, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 3, 1908, in Lawrence, Ind. A resident for more than 20 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Lewis Stoner of Las Vegas and James Daniel Stoner of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Susan Johnson of Bloomington, Ind.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 28369, Las Vegas, NV 89126.
Jean Marie Thomas
Jean Marie Thomas, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Atchison, Kan. A resident for 12 years, she was a change person.
She is survived by four daughters, Rose Culley of Las Vegas, Patricia Kessler of Bolivar, Mo., and Mary Novotny and Nancy Lemke, both of California; six sons, Ray Havens, Robert Lemke, Shaun Lemke and David Lemke, all of Las Vegas, Michael Lemke of San Diego and Christopher Lemke of Riverside, Calif.; three sisters, Patricia Mejia and Shirley Keirns, both of Kansas City, Mo., and Marvel Cole of Cleveland; two brothers, Charles Havens Jr. and Larry Blatt Jr., both of Kansas City; 30 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Bridget M.P. Zirbel
Bridget M.P. Zirbel, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 15, 1937, in Limerick, Ireland. A resident for 37 years, she was a retired registered nurse at UMC for 20 years and a member of the Creative Writing Group.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Paulette Cockreham of Granite Falls, Wash., and Lee Anne Unchangco of Oxnard, Calif.; two sons, Joseph Zirbel of Hawthorne, Calif., and Sean Zirbel of Las Vegas; two brothers, Gus O'Dea of Ireland and Eugene O'Dea of England; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. services today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Church services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Memorial Park.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
