Monday, June 26, 2000 | 9:34 a.m.
"What Tree is That?," a free pocket-sized guide for identifying trees, is available from the National Arbor Day Foundation.
The 84-page illustrated manual identifies 157 varieties of tree common in the Western United States.
"Helping people enjoy and appreciate trees is central to the educational mission of the National Arbor Day Foundation," John Rosenow, the foundation's president, said. "Being able to identify trees is important to knowing how to care for them and how to plant the right tree in the right place."
The free guide may be obtained by sending name and address to "What Tree is That?," the National Arbor Day Foundation, Nebraska City, NE 68410.
E-mail requests are also accepted [member.services@arborday.org].
