University System regents last week authorized the school to offer a Bachelor of Applied Science degree.
The new program is designed for students who have already earned an associate degree in an applied science, said GBC President Ron Remington.
"This new program will allow students who already have an associate's degree in an applied science field to increase their career and earning potential by learning hands-on management and critical thinking skills that are needed for managers in industrial occupations," Remington said in a written statement.
Great Basin College serves students in five rural Nevada counties - Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander and White Pine.
It began offering a four-year degree in elementary education in the fall of 1999.
