Group schedules regular potlucks
A vegetarian potluck group, now organizing in Southern Nevada, is seeking all types of vegetarians for regular potluck get-togethers.
Members are invited to share ideas, food and recipes with other vegetarians at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of every month at the Sun Chase Apartments clubhouse, 3200 McLeod Drive.

NLV Library to hold classes
Two Internet classes are being offered at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive.
The first will be an Internet trading class presented by Don Bright at 6 p.m. Wednesday, which will show how professional day traders work.
The second class will answer questions regarding listserv, which search engine is more complete and how to find everything online. For more information, call Kathleen Hanselmann at 633-1017.
Emergency shelter will open Friday
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Ashley House Emergency Shelter will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at 1103 Weaver Ave.
The Ashley House is an emergency shelter that will allow families to stay together for up to 20 days while they look for employment, permanent housing and other resources to assist them in becoming self-sufficient.
Ashley House was created by the Housing Division of the Economic Opportunity Board of Clark County, the Las Vegas Housing Authority, Metro Police and Lutheran Social Services.

Foot care
A Foot Care Clinic will be held 11 a.m.-noon Thursday at the Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, 2075 E. Flamingo Road. Podiatrist Robert Grzywacz will discuss various conditions of the foot. The event is sponsored by the Senior Advantage program. For reservations, call 369-7911.
Stories in two tongues
A special guest program featuring Joe Hayes, a bilingual storyteller, will be 4 p.m. Thursday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive. For more information, call 633-1070.
