Girl deserves a chance to have a camping experience

One local 7-year-old girl doesn't always have the chance to be a child. She lives in a single-parent home and helps her mother. Although she has adjusted to the changes and serves as "a rock" for her mother, she needs some down time with other children.
She has a kind and generous heart, wrote her mother in an application for a Sun camp scholarship. "I would like her to have something I never had, as I was living on the streets, literally, with my family," her mother wrote.
Going to summer camp for a week is an experience all children would like to have. With the high cost of camp, however, not everyone has the chance.
The Sun Camp Fund provides scholarships so that children who may not otherwise be able to afford it can attend camp. Join these recent donors:
