Vegas gains first nonstop Buffalo flight
Tuesday, June 20, 2000 | 12:02 p.m.
Southwest Airlines today announced it will begin offering daily nonstop service between Las Vegas and Buffalo, N.Y., on Oct. 8.
The flight is the first nonstop flight between Buffalo's Niagara International Airport and Las Vegas, McCarran International Airport officials said. Southwest will offer one flight between the cities daily.
Buffalo will be the 39th market served non-stop by Southwest from Las Vegas. The carrier is McCarran's largest, offering more than 150 flights per day.
About 1.15 million people live in the Buffalo metropolitan area. The Southwest flight makes the city a more attractive market for Las Vegas hotel-casinos.
