Letter: Circus no place for animal lovers
Tuesday, June 20, 2000 | 9:25 a.m.
That should be what a circus represents -- people who choose to work with a circus and entertain people. Unfortunately animals don't have a choice.
I am raising my children to respect the lives of animals and not to laugh at them in a show ring being forced to do demeaning tricks. All you need to do is watch PBS and Discovery to get a glimpse of what their lives were meant to be.
Please don't buy a ticket to the circus; what you are doing is funding cruelty. If you care for animals, the last place you should be is at a circus.
