Benjamin Crosby, 38, of Carson City, and Marty Hall, 36, of Reno, were booked after a yearlong probe by the Nevada Division of Investigation.
Both men were arrested last week on charges of burglary, grand larceny and conspiracy to commit burglary. They were released from jail after posting bail.
Piper's Opera House is one of Nevada's most historic buildings. Dating back to the late 1800s, its stage drew entertainers such as Houdini, John Philip Souza and Lilly Langtry.
The building now is undergoing a major, long-term restoration.
