Letter: Las Vegas full of dangerous, crooked people
Monday, June 19, 2000 | 9:23 a.m.
Chances are you will be hit by a drunken driver or an idiot in a pickup disobeying every traffic law in the books, plus having no insurance. I have been hit twice by hit-and-run drivers.
You will be inundated by the number of crooked politicians, fighting amongst themselves, disinterested in the public welfare, only what they can get out of their offices.
We live in a small-thinking town (a small town is one where the railroad runs right through it.) The city planners ignore the traffic woes, spending thousands on useless traffic studies.
Casinos owners who run this town dictate what they want for the good only of their resorts, public be damned, always getting their own way. Their slots so tight they groan. Incidentally, I have no plans to move and I can't understand why. I guess it's because the whole world is this way.
