Man gets life for murder of girlfriend

A Washoe District Court jury deliberated for two hours Friday before imposing the sentence on Brandon Douglas Allan, who must serve at least 40 years in prison before being eligible for parole.
The same jury convicted Allan on Thursday of fatally shooting his girlfriend, Kellie Von Urquidy Parry, 23, at their Sun Valley residence last Oct. 22.,
Prosecutors said Allan was under the influence of methamphetamine when the shooting occurred.
They told jurors that Allan believed his girlfriend was cooperating with police against him and that their house was bugged.
The message "death to all who deceive" was tattooed across Allan's back and proved prophetic because he killed his girlfriend in the belief she had deceived him, prosecutors said.
